Badminton club
The Badminton Club meets every Wednesday evening in the New Church Hall at 8:15 until 10:30pm. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced player, why not come along and meet our members, play a game or two and decide if you would like to join us on a regular basis.
Sessions run from September to April and the fees for this session currently stand at £20.00 for a yearly Membership.
In addition to our regular Badminton Meetings we hold:
Christmas Party (January), Members Badminton Tournament (April), End of Session Dinner (May)
Lenzie Union Parish Church (LUPC) – Ladies Badminton Club was formed by Agnes Lightbody, Cis Sutherland and May Douglas in 1966 and who were the wives of Members of the Senior Badminton Club.
Forty-four years later Agnes and Cis continue to actively support the Badminton Club by championing current members and encouraging new members.
Over the years the club expanded, enrolling members from the LUPC, some members from other churches and some members with no church connections.
Our main aim is primarily to offer the hand of friendship as well as participating in a game of badminton. In this respect we would like to encourage new members to come along, join in a game of doubles, enjoy the company and meet new friends over a cup of tea / coffee and biscuits.
